A 21-year-old man arrested for allegedly planning a “mass casualty event” against Corpus Christi police was in the process of transitioning genders, authorities confirmed. Seth “Andrea” Gregori was taken into custody Monday on charges of making terroristic threats, the Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) said in a statement.

The FBI investigated after receiving reports of Gregori’s threats, alleging he planned an attack similar to the 2016 Dallas police ambush. A CCPD officer told the Daily Caller that based on FBI information, “it’s our understanding that [Gregori is] transitioning.” Gregori’s driver’s license lists him as male, though jail booking records identify him as female.

Speculation about Gregori’s gender identity arose online due to law enforcement using both “Seth” and “Andrea” in reports. The Nueces County District Attorney’s Office has not yet filed formal charges, and the FBI declined to comment further, referring questions to local authorities.

In 2018, Gregori and his brother Jonathan were reported missing as minors but were later found, police records show. The investigation remains ongoing.
