BREAKING: Vivek Ramaswamy plans to announce run for Governor of Ohio
Vivek Ramaswamy, former GOP presidential candidate and biotech entrepreneur, is set to declare his candidacy for Ohio governor, according to The Washington Post.
The announcement follows Governor Mike DeWine's expected appointment of Jon Husted to fill the Senate seat vacated by JD Vance. Ramaswamy, who has been tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), aims to leverage his accomplishments from this role into a gubernatorial campaign.
His statement is reportedly already drafted, and sources confirm his intention to enter the race for the 2026 election. Ramaswamy, a Cincinnati native and founder of Roivant Sciences and Strive Asset Management, has gained significant recognition from his presidential bid, despite ending it in January 2024.

SCOTUS to uphold TikTok ban
The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously upheld a law that could ban TikTok unless its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, sells the app.
The ruling, issued Friday, will take effect on Sunday, forcing TikTok out of U.S. app stores unless divestiture occurs.
The court recognized TikTok as a significant platform for expression among over 170 million Americans but sided with Congress's national security concerns regarding data privacy and ByteDance's ties to China. The decision was based on the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, which was passed with bipartisan support last April.
TikTok, along with ByteDance and several users, challenged the ban, arguing it infringed on free speech. However, the justices concluded that the law does not violate First Amendment rights, emphasizing the need to address security threats.
This ruling comes days before Donald Trump's inauguration, with his administration potentially influencing the app's fate. Trump has expressed a willingness to explore a "political resolution," having met with TikTok's CEO in December.
Trump inauguration ceremony moved inside due to freezing temperatures: report
President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony will move indoors due to anticipated freezing temperatures in the nation's capital, a source told Fox News.
The swearing-in will take place within the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Monday, with the National Weather Service forecasting temperatures in the low 20s, potentially feeling like single digits with wind chill. This decision echoes the move made during Ronald Reagan's second inauguration in 1985 due to similar cold conditions.
Trump communicated via Truth Social that he aimed to protect attendees from the harsh weather. The presidential parade will also be relocated to Capital One Arena, where guests can watch the ceremony live.
This adjustment comes as the city braces for an Arctic blast, emphasizing safety for law enforcement, supporters, and dignitaries. The last indoor inauguration was a rare occurrence, highlighting the severity of the expected weather.
